Essential Tips For Generating Free Traffic To Your Website

Increasing your website’s online presence doesn’t have to cost much. There are many free or almost-free techniques that can help you drive considerable traffic to your website.

If your traffic budget is minimal, you can use tips noted here to create free website traffic. The key, of course, is consistency.

A powerful technique for generating traffic to your website is exchanging links with other webmasters. All you have to do is to find websites that complement yours in some way, contact the webmaster and exchange website links with them. Considerable traffic can be driven to your site through the websites where your link has been placed. Be sure that you list your new acquaintance’s address on your own site, though; you must start right off building a good reputation for yourself. This will pay off in spades in the long run.

Create joint ventures with other list owners and webmasters. What’s the profit in this? In a joint venture, the partners can advertise each other’s websites to their own customer list. This does not cost you anything, so it is very cost effective. How do you get in an arrangement like this? Get in touch with some list owners and make your request. In this way your website can be seen by a very large list of people. Inevitably this will drive more traffic to your site.

Create some articles or free reports for other webmasters to publish. Place your site address in the author`s resource or biography. If you write quality reports and articles, your items will be published on the other webmasters’ sites; therefore, many readers who will read your article will also go to your website.

Add your website address in your signature for your business email. Anyone that you email can potentially be a prospect for you. Therefore, you will be promoting your website every time you email someone.

Create RSS feeds for your site and submit the feed URLs to the major RSS feed directories online. This will generate traffic to your website.

Create a blog that is linked to your site. Whenever you add new content to a blog, it is essential to ping it. Pinging your blog causes the search engine robots to index your site, which ultimately drives more and more traffic to you. Also, submit your blog address to blog search directories and sites.

Your forum profile signature should include your blog and web addresses. In this way, whenever you post or respond to forum questions, your website URL is seen by all the forum members.

By following these tips, you can easily generate a much larger flow of traffic to your website without spending much money at all. It does require some time to perform the steps presented here – but if you do all this diligently, you will see an increase in your site’s traffic.

Let's Have a Reality Check

You’ve found an online business, product or company that inspires you – great. You have taken all the necessary set-up steps. Excellent! You have launched your first campaign or two or three amid high hopes and, of course, passion. Couldn’t be better.

Now what?

Passion is essential, but what we are here for, after all, is results. Sales. Money coming in, and preferably a lot more coming in than what is being spent for all your projects and campaigns. How do you know where you stand as far as results go?

Operating an online business requires a good bit of learning, and it can lead to a feeling of being overwhelmed. Sometimes something might slip through the cracks, especially when you’re new at it. One thing that cannot, and must not, slip through the cracks, is accountability. It is essential to know what is working and what is not in your online business.

It has been said that 95% of what you do will have no effect; the remaining 5% will make you wealthy. An online marketer must know where each of his efforts fits into that percentage – the 95% or the 5%. Then, those efforts that are in the 95% category should be immediately eliminated so the marketer can focus on and enhance the 5% group.

How do you know what is working?

If you post on message boards, there are several strategies you can employ. When you get a purchase from an ad on a board, provide a short form for the customer to fill out. You can ask them to provide the web address of the posting that they’re responding to. You might also be getting some unofficial feedback in online responses to your posting. Be sure you have any available feedback capabilities engaged just for the purpose of getting comments and other responses.

Another very effective idea is to start an affiliate program. Have a sign-up capability on your main website. An affiliate will run ads that attempt to entice a potential customer to come to your site to make a purchase. You will pay the affiliate a percentage of that sale as a commission. An affiliate program is a cost-effective addition to your business, since you do not have to pay for any ads an affiliate runs. It’s “free traffic” for you, and sales from this benefit both you and the affiliate.

Give sufficient attention to your affiliates’ results. This is simple: Each affiliate has their own code imbedded in their ads. Become familiar with what ads each affiliate is running. You may want to encourage all your affiliates to use the same ad or same type of ad as the ones your most successful affiliates use. In this way, everybody wins – all the affiliates garner more sales and make more money, which benefits you too.

Finally, any time you utilize a new strategy, it is critical for you to read traffic reports and sales results for that strategy. Is there a spike in sales just after you began the new strategy? This can be very telling. For example: Let’s imagine that, as a result of requests for more information from potential customers, you sent out a first copy of an e-newsletter. Note if there were suddenly more sales just after the e-newsletter went out. If so, then the newsletter was well-received, and you should consider making it a regular part of your marketing efforts. If there was no increase in sales, if the newsletter brought no appreciable increase in traffic or sales, it’s in the 95% group and should be discontinued.

To our greater success! Hoping 2009 is a “bullish” year for us all.

Stride Passionately into Online Marketing

Anyone over the age of 30 knows that working at a job that doesn’t excite you is an unattractive way to spend your working life. Anyone under the age of 30 can tell you, they don’t intend to spend their working life that way.

Assuming you have the drive and the proper tools – there’s no reason why you couldn’t carve out your own online path, based on something that genuinely ignites your fervor - even in a recession, or a depression.

Like any other profession, an online profession requires preparation and dedication. Simply because working online is done from home, from your favorite table at Starbucks, or some other environment that is not a cubicle farm, it cannot be done in a sloppy or casual way if you expect success. Working from home with no supervision takes as much, or more, discipline and drive than going to an office does.

Most people will not make amy momey at all online - and others will earn more in a month than others do in a year. Why? What is the key to online success? Why do so many fail and a few succeed?

Passion. Yes, just Passion! But in this case, Passion means a laser-tight focus. It means that you’ve done your homework, researched or created great products, and you like them and believe in them because they fill a need or solve a problem. If you like the products, you will have a true interest in them as well as in your bank account. Your Passion for your products will help you get past the rough spots of internet marketing much easier!

There are plenty of programs out there for you to learn from. There are plenty of free downloads to start you on your way, too. All this information is available with a quick search. You can become an affiliate marketer of companies whose products and results you respect, like I did. Any way you do it, it’s an exciting ride, and it can be worth the time, effort and Passion you put into it!
